A while back, on Geek Brief TV, Cali Lewis reviewed and adored an awesome coffee machine - the Jura-Capresso Impressa J5.  With the exception of little robotic legs to help it bring you your coffee in bed, it does it all - from grinding the beans to frothing your milk.  And it costs two thousand bucks.  After her glowing review, the company decided to allow her to keep the review unit.  I was more than a little envious.

Over the holidays, GBTV had a few special episodes done by a student filmmaker.  He interviewed Cali and Neal and sort of did a “day in the life” story.  Part of that day included coffee made on the Impressa.  After this machine finished brewing coffee touched by god, she proceeded to add three heaping spoonfuls of powdered creamer and four Splenda packets.

If a machine could cry, I’m sure the Impressa wept a silent tear.

Cali, if you one day Google yourself and stumble across this post, I implore you…  You have a thoroughbred that is being used to, I don’t know, give pony rides?  It wants to run and be free and make amazing coffee.  Amazing coffee that can be tasted over fake additives.

Cali, I can give it that home.  Write me.

On the upside, I used her hint about using mayonnaise instead of butter for grilled cheese and just had the best grilled cheese ever.  Trader Joe’s mayo, organic multigrain bread, two slices of muenster and one slice of American cheese.  It was heaven.
